Earthquake - Then and Now
On 28 December 1989 at 10:27am, an earthquake measuring 5.5 on the richter scale shook Newcastle, NSW, Australia and resulted in 13 deaths and massive property damage. I was commissioned by the Newcastle Museum in 2014 to photograph 25 portraits of people holding images they were in or connected to from that day to mark the 25th anniversary of the event. This work was exhibited at the Newcastle Museum in 2014 and subsequently 5 years later in 2019 and produced as an A3 catalogue detailing stories of those who appear in the images.
